"Green Pastures" A painting for my sweetheart.
This commision was for a man we met several years ago in Pennsylvania. Ben and his wife Emma are a wonderful Amish couple who enjoy "riding the rails" now that they are retired. Ben loves trains , but mostly he loves meeting and spending time getting to know people.
I am thankful to call this special couple friends!

"A Portrait to remember" When Denise lost her father this year, she wanted to have a portrait done from one of her favorite old photos. It was a privilege to work on this for her, and to think about the life and stories reflected in this scene. Her brother was deeply touched when she presented the finished portrait to him for Christmas.
Old churches fascinate me. Weddings, births, dedications, memorial services; beginnings and endings and so many of life's most important milestones in between are marked within these doors. Hearts find God here. The serene beauty and dignity of this church despite the ravages of time spoke to me very deeply. With the owners permission, my dear sweetheart salvaged a window frame from the bell tower as a gift for me, which now hangs proudly in my window, reminding me of a special day and of God's faithfulness through all generations.

I was recently privileged to work on these two commissions for fellow "Bird Lovers" Judy and Rick in Arizona. These are beautiful subjects! Enjoy the process of setting them to flight!
